Reflexividad y relaciones de campo afectadas en una etnografía de un club Platense

Abstract

El artículo presenta una serie de discusiones en torno a la reflexividad como dimensión central del proceso de investigación etnográfica. A partir del análisis del abordaje metodológico con que desarrollé mi investigación doctoral en torno a la sociabilidad y la política entre los socios de un club social y deportivo, reflexiono sobre la multiplicidad de formas que la reflexividad fue tomando en la investigación, tanto como vigilancia epistemológica como modo de cuestionar la autoridad monológica para construir las categorías centrales de la tesis en diálogo con mis interlocutores. A su vez se presenta el debate en torno a “poner el cuerpo” como estrategia metodológica para una mejor comprensión de nuestro objeto de estudio, junto con la idea de “dejarse afectar” por lo que sucede en el campo como instancia central en la etnografía. Finalmente, se presenta una reflexión sobre la escritura etnográfica como forma de lograr una mejor comprensión del mundo social.

The article presents some discussions about reflexivity as a central dimension of the ethnographic research process. From the analysis of the methodological approach with which I carried forward my doctoral thesis about sociability and politics among the members of a social and sports club in the city of La Plata, I reflect on the multiplicity of forms that reflexivity was used during the investigation. If sometimes it operated as epistemological surveillance, as an exercise that allowed me to attend to the social and historical determinants that intervened in my scientific practice, in others it allowed questioning the monological authority to construct the central categories of the thesis in dialogue with my interlocutors. In dialogue with this discussion, the debate is presented around “using the body” as a methodological strategy for a better understanding of our study object, together with the idea of “letting ourselves be affected” by what happens in the field as a central instance in ethnography. Finally, a reflection on ethnographic writing is presented as one of the ways to achieve a better understanding of the social world.
