La insostenible levedad de la ortografización del guaraní

Abstract

En este trabajo, nos proponemos poner en perspectiva un aspecto de la glotopolítica de la lengua guaraní, la ortografización del guaraní. La elección de las letras del alfabeto, objeto de históricas disensiones entre guaraniólogos y cimiento de ideologías lingüísticas puristas, no debería representar un obstáculo para una escritura estandarizada. Sobre esta base, examinaremos la normativa de las cuatro reglas ortográficas adoptada por los organismos pertinentes y observaremos prácticas escriturales de los actores vinculados con dicha normativa. Esta mirada escrutadora nos parece tanto más necesaria cuanto que la escritura de gramáticos desde inicios de la gramatización del guaraní nunca fue una escritura estandarizada. Sin embargo, nunca ha obstaculizado la comunicación escrita, y tampoco hoy en el mundo digitalizado. Cabe preguntarse, por tanto, si la obsesiva focalización en la ortografía no nos desvía de lo esencial: que el guaraní se escriba y tenga lectores.
