De configuraciones distópicas : el año de la rata de Mariana Enriquez y Jorge Alderete

Abstract

El presente artículo da cuenta de un abordaje semióticodiscursivo en torno a El año de la rata (2020) de Mariana Enriquez y Jorge Alderete. En esta propuesta, en particular, intentamos reflexionar acerca del modo en que la acción creativa de los autores en esta crónica gráfica distópica ofrece una relectura del cotidiano que problematiza el devenir social. En el concierto de la hibridez genérica, desde un estilo que emula y deconstruye la objetividad de discursividades ontológicas, la ciencia ficción, el fantástico y el terror instalan la contraposición de representaciones y discursos que modelizan lo real, en una actitud irreverente, contestataria y crítica que evidencia la implosión de paradigmas ancestrales en la era posmoderna e interpela al lector a interrogarse sobre su propia realidad.

This article presents a discursive semiotic approach to The Year of the Rat (2020) by Mariana Enriquez and Jorge Alderete. In this proposal, we attempt to reflect on how the creative expression of the authors in this dystopian graphic chronicle offers a fresh perspective on the ordinary aspects of life that problematizes social becoming. Within the context of genre hybridity, through a style that both emulates and deconstructs the objectivity of ontological discourses, science fiction, the fantastic, and horror, the text establishes a juxtaposition of representations and discourses that shape reality. In doing so, it adopts an irreverent, challenging, and critical attitude that highlights the implosion of ancient paradigms in the postmodern era, and prompts the reader to reevaluate their own reality.
