Turismo de reuniones en Posadas, un destino turístico emergente

Abstract

El proyecto de investigación aborda el turismo de reuniones en la Ciudad de Posadas, Argentina. La capital de la provincia de Misiones, con más de 350 mil habitantes, posee un potencial significativo para el turismo de reuniones. Este producto tuvo un franco desarrollo en Argentina en los últimos diez años. Sin embargo, Posadas no se ubicó en ese mapa de ciudades organizadoras de eventos. Recientemente, la gestión pública de la ciudad le ha otorgado un fuerte impulso al turismo de reuniones. En línea con esto, el sector privado identifica nuevas oportunidades de negocios. Además, en la ciudad se ubica el Parque del Conocimiento, el cual alberga al Centro de Convenciones y Eventos. Las condiciones objetivas parecen favorecer el desarrollo de este producto innovador dentro de la oferta turística tradicional. El proyecto analiza las condiciones generales, dificultades y avances posibles del turismo de reuniones, poniendo de relieve los impactos de esta actividad en la ciudad.

The research project aproaches the Meetings Tourism in Posadas city, Argentina. Misiones’ capital, with more than 350 thousand inhabitants, possesses significant potential for meeting tourism. This product, had a frank development in Argentina in the last ten years. However, Posadas was not located on that map of events organizing cities. Recently, the public management of the city has given a strong impetus to meeting tourism. In line with this, the private sector identifies new business opportunities. In addition, in the city is located the Knowledge Park that houses the Center of Conventions and Events. The objective conditions seem to favor the development of this innovative product in what is the traditional tourist offer. The project analyzes the general conditions, difficulties and possible advances of meeting tourism, highlighting the impacts of this activity on the city.
