Efectos de la poda química de raíces en el crecimiento de plantines de Eucalyptus globulus subsp. Maidenii

Abstract

Con objetivo de evaluar el crecimiento de plantines de Eucalyptus globulus subsp. Maidenii (F. Mueller) Kirkpatrick, producidos con y sin aplicación de cobre (oxicloreto de cobre) en el tubete, fue conducido durante 100 días, un experimento instalado en el invernáculo de la Universidad Federal de Santa María. De los resultados obtenidos se concluye que los plantines con tratamiento con aplicación de cobre presentaron mayores crecimientos para las variables altura y diámetro de cuello en relación a los plantines con tratamiento sin aplicación de cobre, en cuanto que, para las variables masa seca aérea, masa seca radicular, volumen radicular y número de hojas, las diferencias entre tratamientos no fueron significativas. La arquitectura del sistema radicular fue modificada cuando se aplicó cobre en el tubete.

An experiment was carried out at the greenhouse of the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. It aimed at evaluating the Eucalyptus globulus subsp. Maidenii (F. Mueller) Kirkpatrick seedlings growth, produced in plastic tuve with and without copper (copper oxichloride) aplication. The experimental period lasted 100 days. The results led to conclude that the seedlings of the treatments with copper aplication showed to the heigth and collar diameter variables, bigger growths, compared with the treatments whithout copper aplication. To the aerial dry matter, root dry matter, root volumen and number of leaves variables the differences between treatments was not significant. The architecture of the roost system was modified when applied copper in the interior surfaces of the plastic tuve.
