Poblamiento y colonización en el Alto Paraná : formas de ocupación en la zona de Caruhapé/ Garuhapé (Misiones, Argentina) (1881-1950)

Abstract

El poblamiento y la colonización en del Territorio de Misiones (1881-1953) ha sido y es un tema de gran debate en la historiografía local y, por ende, es una problemá- tica que está en construcción, principalmente en lo referente a la ocupación del Alto Paraná. En el periodo seleccionado, los asentamientos más recientes fueron producto del accionar de antiguas compañías privadas, antes más orientadas a la explotación extractiva, que avanzaron sobre terrenos pertenecientes a grandes latifundistas y, a su vez, sobre asentamientos poblacionales pre-existentes. El poblamiento y coloniza- ción de los terrenos correspondientes al actual municipio de Garuhapé, que se inicia con la venta de tierras por parte del gobierno de Corrientes (1881), se inscribe en ese contexto. Por ello, este trabajo tiene como objetivo realizar una aproximación desde el análisis de las primeras formas de ocupación en el pueblo, hasta el establecimiento de la colonia homónima, instalación de la Cia. Arriazu, Moure y Garrasino (1946).

The settlement and colonization of the Misiones Territory (1881-1953) has been and is a topic of great debate in local historiography and, therefore, it is a problem that is under construction, mainly in relation to the occupation of Alto Parana. In the selected period, the most recent settlements were the product of the actions of former private companies, previously more oriented to extractive exploitation, ad- vancing on land belonging to large landowners and, in turn, on pre-existing po- pulation settlements. The settlement and colonization of the land corresponding to the current Municipality of Garuhapé, which began with the sale of land by the government of Corrientes (1881), falls within this context. Therefore, this work aims to make an approximation from the analysis of the first forms of occupation in the town, to the establishment of the homonymous colony, installation of the Cia. Arriazu, Moure and Garrasino (1946).
