Abstract

Este artículo, escrito por el sociólogo Mike Michael, es el segundo capítulo del libro Inventive Methods, The Happening of the Social compilado por Celia Lury y Nina Wakeford y constituye un aporte muy significativo para el campo de la socio- logía. Michael presenta una perspectiva innovadora sobre la anécdota y el proceso de “anecdotización” a través del lente de renombradas teorías sociológicas (como la teoría del actor-red de Bruno Latour o la figura teórica del idiota de Isabelle Stenger) y la hace dialogar con otras perspectivas dentro del campo. A través de anécdotas, el autor nos ayuda a recorrer las múltiples dimensiones teóricas y sociales que puede presentar este género.

This article, written by sociologist Mike Michael, is the second chapter of the book Inventive Methods: The Happening of the Social edited by Celia Lury and Nina Wakeford constituting a significant contribution to the field of Sociology. Michael presents an innovative perspective on the anecdote and the “anecdotalization” pro- cess through the lens of renowned sociological theories (such as Bruno Latour’s Actor-Net Theory or Isabelle Stenger’s Rhetorical Figure of the Idiot) comparing and contrasting his viewpoint with other perspectives in the field. While featuring personal anecdotes, the author helps us analyse the multiple theoretical and social dimensions that the genre presents.
