Arreglo Productivo e Innovativo Local (APIL) de calzado artesanal en Camajuaní, Cuba

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio cualitativo de un APIL de artesanos para implementar la metodología de estudio de los APIL en condiciones de Cuba. El sector industrial del calzado en Camajuaní, en su mayoría pertenece al sector privado, formado por grupos de artesanos y productores vendedores. Sus productos tienen reconocida calidad y gran demanda nacional e internacional. Las figuras económicas de fábrica de calzado, productores, vendedores y grupos de artesanos presentan rupturas en sus cadenas productivas que influyen negativamente en el incremento paulatino de sus producciones, destacándose la falta de materias primas y el uso de tecnologías obsoletas. Responde a una tradición antiquísima y se inspira en las habilidades de sus artesanos, compartidas y mejoradas en un continuo intercambio de experiencias y la competencia constante por mercados y nuevas opciones de ganancias. Los cambios ocurridos en la economía cubana han condicionado el desarrollo de un APIL donde la actualización de conocimientos, la innovación y la constante superación de los artesanos han garantizado la competitividad de sus negocios.

A qualitative study of an APIL of artisans was carried out to implement the methodology of study of the APIL in Cuban conditions. The footwear industry in Camajuaní, mostly belongs to the private sector, formed by groups of artisans and vendors. Its products have recognized quality and great national and international demand. The economic figures footwear factory, producers sellers and artisan groups present ruptures in their productive chains that negatively influence the gradual increase of their productions, highlighting the lack of raw materials and the use of obsolete technologies. It responds to an ancient tradition and is inspired by the skills of its artisans, shared and improved in a continuous exchange of experiences and constant competition for markets and new profit options. The changes that have taken place in the Cuban economy have conditioned the development of an APIL where the updating of knowledge, innovation and the constant improvement of artisans have guaranteed the competitiveness of their businesses.
