Hacer trabajo de campo con Mbya Guaraní : relaciones de género y edad

Abstract

La intención de este artículo es compartir algunas de las aproximaciones me-todológicas que surgieron a partir de mi tesis de maestría en antropología social. El tema de interés, la distribución desigual de las tareas de cuidado de las niñas y los niños, me invitó a reflexionar sobre mi trabajo de campo y el “estar allí” desde una perspectiva no adultocéntrica y de género. El siguiente texto pretende ser un análisis de cómo variaron las formas de observación y las técnicas utilizadas en el proceso de investigación, según se trate de niñas y/o niños, mujeres adultas o varones adultos. Si bien el estudio no deja de ser mi experiencia particular en el campo con intereses específicos, tales consideraciones metodológicas nos hablan sobre formas de organización del grupo mbya guaraní.

This article intends to share some of the methodological approaches that emerged from my master’s thesis in social anthropology. The topic of interest, the unequal distribution of caring tasks for girls and boys, invited me to reflect on my fieldwork and the question of “being there” from a non-adult-centered and a gender perspective. The following text is intended to analyze how the forms of observation and the techniques used in the research process varied, depending on whether they were girls and/or boys, adult women, or adult men. Although this study builds upon my particular experience in the field with specific interests, such methodological considerations shed light on the forms of organization of the Mbya Guaraní group.
