Qualidade : o que diria um grupo amazônico sobre a noção de espécie?

Abstract

Este artigo tem como ponto de partida o espinhoso debate que circunscreve a noção de espécie. Contudo, em vez de analisar o problema através das correntes teóricas que dizem respeito às disciplinas biológicas ou filosóficas, pretende-se aqui esboçar algumas reflexões sobre as “espécies” a partir das perspectivas dos Kujubim, um grupo ameríndio que habita a fronteira entre o Brasil e a Bolívia. Embora reconheçam a noção de espécie, tendo em vista o uso que fazem dentro do contexto escolar indígena, os Kujubim experienciam e concebem os animais e outros seres a partir do que eles chamam de qualidade. Neste sentido, o artigo procura demonstrar as relações que constituem o conceito de qualidade e como isso implica em certos cuidados que a Antropologia deve tomar ao adentrar no problema das espécies, sobretudo a partir dos chamados estudos animais e multi-específicos.

The starting point of this article is the thorny debate that circumscribes the notion of species. However, instead of analyzing the problem through the theoretical currents that concern biological or philosophical disciplines, this article sketches some reflections on the idea of “species” by drawing on the perspectives of the Kujubim Amerindian group that inhabits the border between Brazil and Bolivia. Although they recognize the notion of species, given their use in the indigenous school context, the Kujubim experience and conception of animals and other beings is based on what they call qualidade. In this sense, the present article seeks to reveal the relationships that constitute the concept of qualidade and how this implies certain precautions that Anthropology must take when entering the problem of species, especially from the so-called animal and multispecies studies.
