La Wilancha en Jesús de Machaca : tradiciones que delatan otras interacciones en torno al sacrificio en el mundo aymara

Abstract

Cada dos de agosto es realizada la wilancha en Jesús de Machaca por parte de los “pasantes”, cargos festivos que tienen como responsabilidad auspiciar la fiesta. En este evento se comparte mientras se sacrifican los animales que servirán para alimentar el resto de los días de fiesta en el pueblo y se realizan otras mediaciones para llenar la casa y la familia de los “pasantes” de coraje o fuerza vital. El objetivo de este artículo es describir y analizar los procesos relacionales que surgen durante la wilancha por parte de los matarifes y cocineros, quienes son los responsables de garantizar la alimentación en la fiesta. De esta manera, mediante las reflexiones dotadas por el pensamiento relacional y otros estudios abordados por el llamado giro ontológico, nos lleva a cuestionar las teorías sobre el sacrificio planteadas por Marcel Mauss (2010) y Mary Douglas (1999), quienes establecen un orden dicotómico para el entendimiento de esta categoría.

Every August 2nd, the wilancha is performed in Jesús de Machaca by the "pasantes", festive positions whose responsibility is to sponsor the festival. They share this event while the animals that will serve to feed the rest of the festival days in the village are sacrificed, and while other mediations are performed to fill the house and the family of the "pasantes" with courage or vital strength. The objective of this article is to describe and analyze the relational processes that arise during the wilancha on the part of the slaughterers and cooks, who are responsible for mediating the feeding in the feast. In this way, through the reflections endowed by relational thinking on the wilancha and other studies addressed by the so-called ontological turn, it leads us to question the theories on sacrifice raised by Marcel Mauss (2010) and Mary Douglas (1999), who establish a dichotomous order for the understanding of this category.
