Memorias sobre la resistencia campesina : el conflicto de La Simona de 1998 como hito de la lucha del MOCASE

Abstract

En este escrito reconstruimos desde la perspectiva de las memorias un conflicto territorial acaecido en 1998 en La Simona, Santiago del Estero. Después de visibilizar a nivel nacional la precariedad de la tenencia de la tierra, este hecho se presenta como hito del Movimiento Campesino de Santiago del Estero. Para ello, realizamos entrevistas a los protagonistas y analizamos un corpus de archivos de diversa índole. Esto nos permitió reconstruir el proceso de resistencia mediante diferentes huellas temporales de la memoria, compartidas grupalmente. Dichas narraciones a su vez están atravesadas por distintas afectividades que resignifican el evento de acuerdo con el lugar que cada sujeto ocupó en ese entonces, pero también con el lugar que ocupan hoy en día. Concluimos que este hecho merece ser considerado como hito no solo por el innegable éxito de la resistencia, en tanto obtención de escrituras, sino por el impacto simbólico que derivó en el reconocimiento político del movimiento a nivel provincial, nacional e internacional.

In this paper we reconstruct from the perspective of memories a territorial conflict that took place in 1998 in La Simona, Santiago del Estero. After making visible at the national level the precariousness of land tenure, this event is presented as a milestone of the Peasant Movement of Santiago del Estero. For this purpose, we conducted interviews with the protagonists, and we analyzed a corpus of archives of various kinds. This allowed us to reconstruct the process of resistance through different temporal traces of memory shared by the group. These narratives in turn are crossed by different affectivities that re-signify the event according to the place that each subject occupied at that time, but also with the place they occupy today. We conclude that this event deserves to be considered as a milestone not only because of the undeniable success of the resistance, in terms of obtaining deeds, but also because of the symbolic impact that resulted in the political recognition of the movement at provincial, national and international level.
